Today the temperature outside was a bone-chilling -19C (with windchill). Both Jarret and I were absolutely freezing in our 20 dollar "name-brand" winter jackets that we purchased at the local market near the Beijing zoo. In fact, it was sooooo friggin cold and windy the streets were steaming and our entire bodies are wind-burnt after a days worth of sight-seeing outside. Yes we are Canadians, hardened for cold weather, but not for 8 hours straight of wind and chill! So many of Beijing's magnificant sites are outdoors, and given the predicted cold snap to last a few more days, we will have to brave the weather!
