Happy, but not yet healthy, in Hoi An

Ever get that pain in your ears when your plane is descending to its final destination? Have you ever had crushing pain in your sinuses to go with it? What about sharp lightening bolt pain shooting through the left side of your face from your hairline to chin? No, well consider yourself lucky because today I (Jarret) did. It was awful. No more flights until I am feeling better. Enough whining though...

Hoi An is just as the books describe it, charming. Its so laid back and mellow compared to Ha noi. Much of the old town is pedestrian only, things are cheaper (seriously, you should see our 30 dollar room, it would easily be a suite at most hotels at home), and there are nice shops and cafes everywhere. We already booked an extra night. Travey may even get his first glimpse of Vietnam here!

Ha Noi was good, but we were glad to leave. We needed to get somewhere where jackets were not necessary! From here on out it should be smooth sailing in that department (knock on wood).

Food in Vietnam has been pretty good so far. The Pho (pronounced fa i have been told) is great. Sping rolls can be hit and miss though as every little place throws them together for tourists. Still the craziest thing to us is the amount of tourists...we had no idea it was this big of a destination. I swear we outnumber the locals downtown here!

Tomorrow off for some bike riding, maybe some silk shopping and definately some cheap eating! Until next time.
