Christmas Day in Shanghai

Christmas day came and went in Shanghai and we had a terrific day shopping (the stores were absolutely slammed) and sight-seeing around the Huangpu River. Given how the locals here celebrated, we were able to combine celebrating like the locals while splurging a bit on a hotel. Here are our highlights:

- Strolling along the Bund (water-line).
- Visiting the Pudong area to see the Oriental Pearl TV tower, Jinmao Tower, and the SWFC Observatory (aka the bottle cap opener building).
- Vegetarian lunch with some dumplings.
- Enjoyed a very over-priced drink at the world's highest bar in Cloud 9 sky bar on the 87th floor of the Jinmao Tower.
- Consumed a mixture of Chinese and American Tapas at our hotel lounge while watching the film "Four Christmases".
- Intermittent conversations with family on skype.

All and all it was a good day, but we missed being on the same continent as our family and friends.
