Today we head out to Eger: a small Hungarian town famous for their red wine. Budapest was amazing and here are some of our highlights:
-Wine tasting
-Night Danube cruise
-Opera (we had no idea what was going on and left at intermission!).
-Post-opera dinner at a great Italian/Hungarian restaurant.
-Pedestrian streets
-Live music at “old man’s music pub”. The night happened to be an U2 tribute so we knew most of the songs even with the odd pronunciation by the Hungarian singer!
We found a good way to raise your comfort level and eat home cooked meals (and save $$) is to stay in an apartment. Such accommodation is especially worthwhile if one is staying in a city 3+ nights.
