1000 feet below sea level!

Thats right, the lowest point on earth!

Being two backpackers you may find it odd that we splurged and stayed two nights at the Marriott right on the Dead Sea Coast in Jordan. On the other hand, you may appreciate our need for extravagance after 2.5 months away from home. Whatever your opinion, the resort was beautiful, the sky was clear, the air was clean, and the sun was HOT, HOT, HOT. In fact, we were shocked at the 10 degree jump in temperature from Amman, only 65 km away. The heat is partly to blame for the rapid evaporation and receeding of the sea.

We slathered ourselves in the sea's mineral-rich mud and floated effortlessly in its waters (its so weird and cool). Thanks to our do-it-yourself spa treatment, our skin has never felt so healthy and never looked so orange (it has become a bit dyed from the mud).

Definitely something we will remember for the rest of our lives!
