An unexpected side trip to Bucharest

Due to the unpredictable nature of Romanian trains and the unlikely nature of making it to our destination in one day (Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria) we are making a pitstop for the night in Romania's captial, Bucharest. As our guide book stresses the hectic nature of the city with gangs of dogs, coupled with our own visions of a loud crowded dirty place, we are not overly excited about it. We are hoping that we will be presently surprised. If not, a night in a nice hotel, here we come!!
